Blog entry number 6

Stranded

If I went on a hiking trip with some friends, I don’t think that I would somehow manage to separate myself from them. If I did manage to achieve that level of stupidity however, the first thing that I would do is think about where I had been. I would think about all of the possible places that I could have separated from the rest of the group. I would then think about a possible idea for their destination. I would instantly think of some of the place that they could have stopped to rest or take a break of some sort. I would then think about where our means of transportation was located. I would then think about where the nearest and largest path or trail was situated. I am the type of person who would only take my phone and bring some food and water. I would also make sure that I had a couple of Gatorade's and at least two energy drinks with me. From my years of experience with endurance running, I would definitely be able to make a long hike. I would then try to contact one of the members of my group to find out where they were at and set up a meeting point. If I could not get a hold of at least one of them, then I would start walking and leave some sort of trail to know where I’ve been and leave some type of note to tell my friends where I was at if they happened to come across my trail. I would also be sure to count the number of how many steps I took in each direction and record it in some way. I would also retrace my steps a little bit. I would then continually repeat this process until I was in some way reunited with my group.
